Disney has just announced that all of Marvel’s original six series for Netflix including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher, and the Defenders mini series as well as the ABC Marvel series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be arriving on Disney+ in the US on Wednesday, March 16th. Previously these series were streaming exclusively on Netflix but were removed from the platform when their license ended on March 1st.

The six Netflix series and ABC series were originally developed and produced by the now-defunct Marvel Television and are considered legends series. Despite this, there have been hints at introducing the legends series and earlier Marvel movies into canon recently with Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series and Marvel / Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. originally began in-canon with cameos from canon actors but moved into being considered a legends series through the seasons.

With the addition of the Defenders franchise series, this is the first TV-MA (R-rated) content on Disney+ in the US. Due to this, Disney+ will be updating the parental controls features and will prompt users on March 16th to update their settings. Controls allow you restrict content based on rating and set a pin for specific profiles.
