Disney Store released a new collectible doll - the Tiana Limited Edition Doll! The Tiana doll is a limited edition doll created to celebrate new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, inspired by The Princess and the Frog (2009). The doll is inspired by concept art created by award-winning costume designer, Ida Muldrow, with the dress drawing inspiration from the glamour and elegance of the 1920s. The doll is poseable with expressive sculpting and finely styled hair and is wearing a golden glittery tunic with a v-neckline with golden lace trim, embroidered arches, and gemstone studs with a layered sheer striated chiffon skirt with golden lace petal trim at the waist, a draped shoulder cape with lettuce hems, and golden keyhole sleeves. She also has a golden tiara, a faux diamond necklace with gem pendant, and golden strappy shoes. The Tiana doll is limited to 3500 pieces and comes with a certificate of authenticity. About the Artist: Ida Muldrow (via DisneyStore.com)

Ida Muldrow currently works for the prestigious Walt Disney Imagineering team, though her love for fashion design began when she was just six years old. Her mother, disheartened there were not many Black toy dolls to gift her daughter for Christmas, found an unadorned 18'' Black doll body. Then she created a pattern for a ball gown using silk brocade. When Ida saw the doll, she was filled with pride and excitement, sparking her love for fashion.
For Tiana's mansion party gown, Ida drew inspiration from the 1920s era of glimmering glamour. The style blends with Tiana's elegance, epitomizing the beauty of the bayou princess. For Ida, she is proud to make an impact by designing this limited edition piece.
