Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Release Date Announced
We finally have a date! Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi original series will be arriving on Disney+ on May 25th, 2022. This was announced by CEO Bob Chapek during The Walt Disney Company Q1 Earnings call. We also got a new poster for the series, which will take place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. We’re speculating that the first trailer is likely to drop this Sunday (February 13th) during the Super Bowl.
The much-anticipated ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series will star Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, returning in their roles from the prequel trilogy as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker, respectively. The cast also includes Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Moses Ingram, Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, and Maya Erskine.
Deborah Chow is the director and showrunner for the series. Chow will also executive produce, along with Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Ewan McGregor, and series writer Joby Harold.
