Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning this Halloween season at Walt Disney World! Running for 38 nights, the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom will take place on select dates from August 11th to November 1st from 7pm to midnight.

Disney Parks Blog announced the return of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party during the Halfway to Halloween event on April 20th. Guests are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and enjoy event-exclusive entertainment, spooky decor, rides and attractions - including a few with Halloween overlays, delicious sweets and treats, trick-or-treating, special Disney character appearances, photo opportunities, exclusive merchandise, and more.

New additions to the party this year include Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow joining Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade as the Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus. A pirate band will be roaming in Adventureland performing sea shanties and telling stories of their time at sea. Additionally, we’re waiting to hear when the newest happy haunt will be joining Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion. Disney recently announced the Hatbox Ghost will be arriving “later this year” and have begun construction with temporary barriers for his arrival as of August 1st. He will be appearing to guests as they pass by the Endless Hallway towards the beginning of the ride. We feel it would make sense for him to arrive for the Halloween party- we will update here with more info once it’s available. We’re also speculating that Bruno from Disney’s Encanto may be a rare character available to meet at the Halloween party due to a recent audition notice. Stay tuned for more details!

Not-So-Scary is my favorite event of the year! We will be attending the party again this year in late September and will be vlogging and blogging our experience. Check out our video guide to the event, plus our vlog from the party last year- and keep scrolling down for all the details!

Entertainment - Shows, Parades, & Characters

With the return of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party we also have the return of many fan-favorite shows and parades! This year’s Halloween party will include Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks Show, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, The Cadaver Dans, Disney Junior Jam, Characters in their Halloween costumes, and more! Check out all the details below.

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade

Boo-To-You is back! This year the beloved Halloween parade will be running twice nightly at 9:15PM and 11:15PM during the Halloween party. The parade runs along the Magic Kingdom parade route starting in Frontierland and ending on Main Street. The Headless Horseman will kick off the procession, riding down Main Street, U.S.A. on his ghost horse.

This year, new characters will be joining the parade with Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow dressed up as the Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus! Previously, these costumes were seen on Disney Cruise Line last Halloween season, and I can’t wait to see them join my favorite parade.

Many fan-favorite floats and parade performers will also return, including:

  • The Haunted Mansion Graveyard Diggers, Hitchhiking Ghosts, the Mansion Bride, and more

  • Disney Characters in their Halloween costumes

  • Disney Villains Grand Finale with new characters this year including Ursula (The Little Mermaid) and Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow as the Sanderson Sisters (Hocus Pocus)

In years past there has also been a a Pixar-themed section, Adventureland section with pirates and Tinkerbell, Frontierland Hoedown section with Clarabelle Cow and Clara Cluck, and Sugar Rush Wreck-It Ralph Candy section - we will update this post once we know more about which floats will be returning in 2023!

Additionally, before the parade Max Goof and the Powerline party pack will be back on Main Street U.S.A. dancing ahead of Mickey’s Boo-to-You. We will update here with more information about their location once the party starts!

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular

Anything can happen at Halloween! Jack Skellington (Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas) will be hosting the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular this year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The fireworks display will begin at 10:15PM above Cinderella Castle and features projections, lasers, lighting and special effects, fireworks, music, and favorite Disney characters. Jack Skellington narrates the show as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy find themselves at a mysterious haunted house full of Disney villains, skeletons from Silly Symphonies - The Skeleton Dance short, Haunted Mansion ghosts, and more. The Pumpkin King-hosted fireworks show is exclusive to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

The Sanderson Sisters return to throw a Halloween party at Magic Kingdom on the Cinderella Castle stage with the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular! Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson will be joined by Disney villains as they work together to conjure a Hocus Pocus party potion and cast a spell on everyone in Magic Kingdom. Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog), Oogie Boogie (The Nightmare Before Christmas), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), and more will join the Sanderson Sisters for this Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party exclusive stage show.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular will have three shows a night at 8:35PM, 10:45PM, and midnight in August and September and four shows a night at 7:40PM, 8:35PM, 10:45PM, and midnight in October and November.

The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet

The Cadaver Dans will be attending the party this year with “haunting melodies” and “deadpan humor”. The ghostly barbershop quartet will be performing during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party in Frontierland with five sets at 7PM, 7:45PM, 8:30PM, 9:45PM, and 10:30PM!

Disney Junior Jam

Check out the Disney Junior Jam at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café! This dance party runs from 7PM to midnight during the party and features favorite characters from Disney Junior shows- perfect for younger party guests.

Zom-Beatz Bash

Check out the Zom-Beatz Bash at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland! This dance party runs from 7PM to midnight during the party and features zombies, cheerleaders, werewolves, and aliens.

Rusty Cutlass

A pirate band and their crew will be taking over Adventureland, performing sea shanties and sharing tales of their time at sea. This is a new experience in 2023, taking place throughout the night from 7:15PM-11:50PM!

Disney Characters

Disney characters will be around Magic Kingdom for meet and greets and photo opportunities in their Halloween costumes. In the past, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has also seen some exclusive and rare characters - we will update here with more information once it becomes available!

Recently announced, the Seven Dwarfs (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) will be returning to the party for a meet and greet. In years past the Dwarfs do not sign autographs but you can meet them and take a photo. We will continue to update here with more character news!
