Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Returns to Magic Kingdom!
Big and exciting news! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning to Walt Disney World this Halloween season! Running for 37 nights, the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom will take place on select nights from August 12th to October 31st 2022 from 7pm to midnight.
Disney Parks Blog announced the return of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party during the Halfway to Halloween event on April 28th. The Halloween party is returning after two years - last year Disney celebrated the Halloween season with the After Hours Boo Bash. Guests are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and enjoy event-exclusive entertainment, spooky decor, rides and attractions - including a few with Halloween overlays, delicious sweets and treats, trick-or-treating, special Disney character appearances, photo opportunities, exclusive merchandise, and more.
Not-So-Scary is my favorite event of the year! We will be attending the party in mid-September this year and will be vlogging and blogging our experience! Check out all the details we know so far in our video guide and scroll down for event updates over the next few months!

Entertainment - Shows, Parades, & Characters
With the return of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party we also have the return of many fan-favorite shows and parades! This year’s Halloween party will include Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks Show, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, The Cadaver Dans, Disney Junior Jam, Characters in their Halloween costumes, and more! Check out all the details below.
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
Boo-To-You is back! My favorite parade is making it’s long-awaited return at Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! The last year the parade ran down Main Street, U.S.A. was in 2019.
This year the beloved Halloween parade will be running twice nightly at 9:15PM and 11:15PM during the Halloween party. The parade runs along the Magic Kingdom parade route starting in Frontierland and ending on Main Street. The Headless Horseman will return to kick off the procession, riding down Main Street, U.S.A. again on his ghost horse. Many fan-favorite floats and parade performers will also return, including:
Disney Characters in their Halloween costumes including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse
Pirates and Tinkerbell from Adventureland
The Haunted Mansion Graveyard Diggers, Hitchhiking Ghosts, the Mansion Bride, and more
Frontierland Hoedown featuring a square dancing Clarabelle Cow
Disney Villains Grand Finale
In years past this has been the show order, with a Pixar-themed section and the Sugar Rush Wreck-It Ralph Candy section between Frontierland Hoedown and the Villains Finale - we will update this post once we know more about which floats will be returning in 2022!
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
Anything can happen at Halloween! Jack Skellington (Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas) will be hosting the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular this year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The fireworks display will begin at 10:15PM above Cinderella Castle and features projections, lasers, lighting and special effects, fireworks, music, and favorite Disney characters. Describing the plot of the show, Disney writes, “During a frightfully fun fireworks display, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy are spirited away to a mysterious haunted house where they encounter dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and a sinister gathering of Disney villains!” The Pumpkin King-hosted fireworks show is exclusive to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
This year also marks the return of the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular! The Sanderson Sisters return to throw a Halloween party at Magic Kingdom on the Cinderella Castle stage. Winifred, Sarah, and Mary Sanderson will be joined by Disney villains as they work together to conjure a Hocus Pocus party potion and cast a spell on everyone in Magic Kingdom. Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog), Oogie Boogie (The Nightmare Before Christmas), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), and more will join the Sanderson Sisters for this Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party exclusive stage show.
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular will have three shows a night for party dates in August and September at 8:35PM, 10:45PM, and midnight and four shows a night for party dates in October at 7:40PM, 8:35PM, 10:45PM, and midnight.
The Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet
The Cadaver Dans will be returning to the party this year with “haunting melodies” and “deadpan humor”. The ghostly barbershop quartet will be performing during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party in Frontierland with five sets at 7PM, 7:45PM, 8:30PM, 9:50PM, and 10:30PM!
Disney Junior Jam
Check out the Disney Junior Jam at Storybook Circus! This dance party runs from 7PM to midnight during the party and features favorite characters from Disney Junior shows- perfect for younger party guests.
Monsterous Scream-O-Ween Dance Ball
Mike Wazowski and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. will be hosting the Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Dance Ball during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! The dance party runs from 7PM to midnight at the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland.
Disney Characters
Disney characters will be around Magic Kingdom for meet and greets and photo opportunities in their Halloween costumes. In the past, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has also seen some exclusive and rare characters - we will be sure to update here with more information once it becomes available!
