REVIEW: Barbecued Pulled Chicken Sandwich at EPCOT

The Barbecued Pulled Chicken Sandwich is available for purchase at Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue in EPCOT. Regal Eagle Smokehouse is located at The American Adventure Pavilion. If you’re facing the pavilion, the quick service restaurant is to the left behind Fife & Drum Tavern, the smoker, and the outdoor drink cart. There is outdoor and indoor seating and mobile order is available.
The Barbecued Pulled Chicken Sandwich is served with house-made pickles, coleslaw, and an onion ring on a brioche roll. The sandwich costs $12.29 plus tax and is served with a choice of side from baked beans with burnt ends, beer-battered onion rings, creamy coleslaw, seasoned french fries, or macaroni & cheese. It is eligible for a Disney Dining Plan quick service meal credit. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, this is an okay use of a quick service meal credit to get the most value out of your credits. If you’re paying out of pocket, I would say this is a great value for the cost.
I was pleasantly surprised by this sandwich! I don’t eat barbecue very often, but I really enjoyed the barbecue flavor in this sandwich. On first look, I thought there was too much coleslaw, but it was light on mayonnaise and was well-seasoned and added a lot of flavor to the sandwich. I also was surprised the brioche roll was not toasted or buttered but it was able to absorb the sauce well and held the structure together. I also really loved the onion ring on this sandwich, which added a great flavor and nice crunch from the breading. I did ask for the pickles on the side as I hate pickles but the boyfriend said they were great with a light and fresh flavor almost closer to a cucumber than pickle. The sandwich was a satisfying and filling lunch with a great portion size.
I chose french fries as my side and I don’t feel like you can go wrong with fries, but I’m a fan of this type of fries (and all fries) so I’m always glad to eat them. These fries have a bit of seasoning and more skin on them than the tradition Disney french fries, and I enjoyed them as always. I ordered via mobile order on the My Disney Experience app to save time.
