The Boo Bash runs from 9pm to midnight on the above dates. Prices vary from $129-199 (plus tax) and get more expensive the closer we get to Halloween. You do not need to have a theme park ticket or park pass reservation for that day to attend the After Hours event.
Guests with tickets will be admitted to Magic Kingdom as early as 7pm the night of the party. Don’t forget to wear your spooky best! The Boo Bash is the one time of year where all guests can wear costumes. Be sure to stay within the park guidelines- see more information from Disney.
If you do choose to wear a costume, keep in mind that it’s hot in Orlando, even in October. A few years ago I packed a full Sally costume with tights, face paint, and a wig for our late October Not-So-Scary party…and it was 90+ degrees our whole trip. I ended up scrapping everything and just wearing the dress- and wasted precious suitcase space that could have been used for more Minnie ears!
Now, on to the night of your After Hours Boo Bash!
First, you'll want to check in and pick up your Boo Bash wristband. Wristbands will be available when you check in at the main entrance. If you’re already in the park, you’ll be able to pick one up outside Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin or at Tortuga Tavern.
Make sure you also grab an event map- this is your guide to the party! It will include locations of trick-or-treating spots, character sightings, Halloween merchandise, and PhotoPass magic shots. It will also have a times guide for entertainment, plus lists of open attractions and specialty treats.
Don’t forget to check out the decor on Main Street! Aside from the annual Halloween banners and Mickey Pumpkin Wreaths this year there are also Cinderella Pumpkin Wreaths to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.
Entertainment
Although there are less entertainment offerings than in years past, there’s still lots to see and do during the After Hours Boo Bash!
While there will be no special Halloween fireworks (I’ll be missing HalloWishes forever), if you enter the parks before closing you’ll be able to watch the new 50th Anniversary Disney Enchantment Firework Spectacular. Showtimes vary depending on park hours.
Disney characters including Goofy, Chip n’ Dale, and Pooh & Pals will be doing distanced meet and greets in their Halloween costumes. While you’re visiting the Haunted Mansion, special appearances by Miss Carlotta, Miss Renatta, and Broome the Butler should liven up your stay.
You also might encounter the Cadaver Dans- returning from the dead to serenade guests. If doing the Monster Mash is more your thing, check out the DJ Dance Party in Tomorrowland!
Additionally, Halloween Cavalcades will be running down Main Street twice a night. Featured floats will be:
Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Pals)
Disney Villain Halloween Cavalcade (Dr. Facilier, Queen of Hearts, Jafar, and more)
Jack’s Nightmare Cavalcade (Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie)
Maleficent Dragon Cavalcade
The Maleficent Dragon may or may not breathe fire- I’ve seen a mix of reports. Check out the times guide at the event for more details.
Attractions
Over 20 Magic Kingdom attractions will be open during the After Hours Boo Bash! With a limited number of guests able to attend, waits for these popular attractions should be much shorter than during normal park hours.
Attractions that will be open during the Boo Bash include:
Pirates of the Caribbean
Jungle Cruise
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Swiss Family Treehouse
Splash Mountain
Country Bear Jamboree
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Haunted Mansion
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
Peter Pan’s Flight
“it’s a small world”
Mad Tea Party
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
The Barnstormer
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Space Mountain
Tomorrowland Speedway
Astro Orbiter
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, Mickey’s Philharmagic, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room will not be open during Boo Bash.
Sweets & Treats
No Halloween is complete without CANDY! Trick or treating trails will be throughout the Magic Kingdom with eight different Trick or Treat trails. Mars and Wrigley are sponsoring, so I would expect lots of M&Ms, Skittles, and Snickers. Allergy-friendly options are also available- be sure to ask a cast member if that is a requirement in your family or visit the Allergy-Friendly Center in Liberty Square.
Don’t fill up too much on candy though- unlimited popcorn, select beverages, and Mickey Premium Bars are included in the cost of the ticket. I don’t know about you, but I would be eating as many Mickey Ice Cream bars as I can!
There are also a few specialty frozen drinks and snacks available at the Boo Bash. For a full list of all Halloween treats available around the parks, check out my blog post with more details and photos!
Nuts and Bolts
While it is not included in the event ticket price, PhotoPass will be available for in-ride photos and throughout the park. You might also get lucky and have special characters and happy haunts show up in your photos for magic shots.
Covid guidelines are still in effect. As always, they are subject to change. Face coverings are required indoors including all indoor attractions, indoor queues, and enclosed transportation. Face coverings are optional in outdoor areas. Disney is also encouraging all guests to get vaccinated.
If you are attending the After Hours Boo Bash I hope this information enhances your experience- and that you have a ghoulishly good time!
